MODE OF APPLICATION
FOR ADMISSIONS
Application
for admission into the Gombe State University is through the purchase of
screening forms sold to prospective candidates at a fee fixed by the
Universitys management as well as filling of JAMB forms.
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS
The Gombe
State University starts with thirteen academic departments spread under
three foundation Faculties of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences,
Faculty of Education and Faculty of Science.
The
General/Faculty Requirements are English Language and Mathematics
Candidates offered admission should fulfill the minimum entry
requirements stated against the Faculties into which they are admitted.
The entry requirements should not be in more than two sittings.
All
candidates should submit original and 2 photocopies of their
certificates or result slips. Similarly, birth certificates/declaration
of age and state of origin declaration are to be submitted.
FACULTY OF ARTS
AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
1. B.A English
(a) Direct Entry: Two A Level
passes to include Literature in
English and one other Arts subject or NCE at
lower
credit level in two relevant Arts subject
which
must include Literature in English.
(b) UME: Five O Level
credit passes to include Literature
and
English Language.

B.A History
(a) Direct Entry:- Two A Level
passes in History and any
other
relevant subject or NCE at lower credit
in
History or any other relevant subject.
(b) UME: Five O
Level Credit passes to include History and English Language.

B.Sc. Accountancy/Finance
(a) Direct
Entry:- Two A Level passes including
Economics.
(b) UME: Five O Level
Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Economics.
4. B.Sc. Business Administration
(a) Direct Entry: Two A Level passes
including Economics or NCE at lower credit in any relevant subject.
(b) UME: Five O Level
Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Economics.

(a) Direct Entry: Two A Level passes
in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics,
Chemistry, Agric. Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and
Government.
(b) UME: Five O Level Credit
passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.

(a) Direct Entry: Two A Level passes
including Government or History Or NCE at lower credit level in any
relevant subject.
(b) UME: Five O Level Credit
passes in Government or History, English Language and three other
subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required.

(a) Director Entry: Two A Level passes
including Government or History or NCE at lower credit level in any
relevant subject.
(b) UME: Five O Level Credit
passes in Government or History, English Language and three other
subjects.

(a) Direct Entry: Two A Level passes
including Government or History.
(b) UME:
Five O level Credit passes in Government or History, English Language
and three other subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required.

Christian Religious Studies or NCE at lower credit level in relevant

credit level in any relevant subject.

Chemistry and any one of Biology, Zoology or Botany or NCE at lower

to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and at
least a pass in Physics

Direct Entry: Two A level passes in
Chemistry and any one of either Mathematics or Physics or NCE at lower

Geography and any one of Economics, Government, Physics, Chemistry,

in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two of Economics,
Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Direct Entry: Two A Level passes from
Geology, Chemistry Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Geography.

UME Five O Level Credit passes
in English Language, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics.
24. B.Sc.
Mathematics
(a)
Direct Entry: Two A Level passes in
Mathematics and any other Science subject or NCE at lower credit in
Mathematics and one of Physics or Chemistry.
(b) UME:
Five O Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and
at least two subjects from Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Further
Mathematics, Economics and Geography.

Mathematics or Statistics and any other Science Subject or NCE at lower

Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Economics and
Geography.

Zoology
(a)
Direct Entry: Two A level passes in
Chemistry and any one from Biology, Zoology or Botany or NCE at lower
credit level in relevant subject.
(b)
UME: Five O level credit passes to include English Language,
Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and at least a pass in Physics.
